World traveler Joel Barish is no stranger to the different customs and traditions of different cultures around the world. Luckily for us, he cannot leave home without his camera and sense of adventure. In his travels, he documents his experiences and brings them back to share with us. For Joel, Deafness is not a barrier, but rather, a doorway to exploration.
Through his vlogs, he tells the stories of deaf people he meets around the world. We find 90-minute documentaries alongside short episodes covering everything from the oldest building in Tibet to the strange doughnuts of Portland, Oregon and more. Joel shows us the abilities these Deaf people have to overcome their unique barriers, finding success in life while honoring their culture. He understands that Deaf culture is distinct globally, yet unique for each area of the world. In his travels, Joel leaves no stone unturned, no conversation was forgotten, no food untasted, and no culture overlooked. He strives to bring us the incredible narratives of deaf people, community, and culture everywhere.
